At NatureBox, we believe snacks should taste great and are part of a balanced diet. It's that simple. All of our snacks fit into one of three categories, Healthy, Smart, or Crave, so you can choose which of these better-for-you options you'd like to try. We have over 100 snacks with new ones added every month.


Meeting the FDA criteria for "Healthy" isn't easy, but we've done it. Our dried fruits, oatmeals, and quick cups are healthy snacks that taste great.

So, what does "Healthy" even mean?

  • Low fat = 3 grams or less per serving
  • Low saturated fat = 1 grams or less per serving
  • Low sodium = 480 mg or less of sodium per serving
  • Low in cholesterol = 60 mg or less of cholesterol per serving
  • Vitamin rich = Contains at least 10% per serving of your daily value of vitamin A, vitamin C, iron, calcium, protein, or fiber.


These nutrient-dense snacks are part of a balanced diet so go ahead and enjoy some of our nuts, cookies, bars, and fruit chews.

What is the difference between "Smart" and "Healthy"?

Smart snacks are full of nutrients and have unique benefits that their common counterpart do not. However, until the FDA updates their criteria, we cannot call these "healthy". For instance, we can all agree nuts are good for you, but their higher fat content disqualifies them from being called "healthy" by the FDA. Whole Wheat Vanilla Animal Cookies, a cookie yes, but it has lower sugar and higher fiber than what you typically expect.


Not all cravings are bad, and these snacks prove it. Grab one of our pretzels, yogurt or chocolate-covered snacks for a better way to indulge.

So are "Crave" snacks bad for me?

No, but like anything in life, these snacks should be enjoyed in moderation. You can snack confidently knowing we use high-quality ingredients so you don't have to feel guilty. Afterall, if you're gonna cheat, cheat with us - you won't regret it later.

Dietary Preferences

Just because you have a dietary preference doesn't mean your snacks have to be boring. We have a number of vegan and non-GMO snacks to keep your taste buds happy. While we do have snacks that are made without gluten, they are not certified gluten-free. Just keep in mind that all of our snacks are packed in a facility that handles tree nuts, peanuts, milk, wheat, egg, and soy.

Real food that's really tasty

We know because we made 'em.

No shortcuts. We use only high-quality ingredients that you can trust. We stay away from scary preservatives so you can always expect fresh, delicious snacks. Fewer preservatives mean our snacks don't have a long shelf life, which is great news for you and your body. All our snacks have a "best by" date specified on the bag but keep in mind that is different from an "expiration date". The "best by" date lets you know when the freshness of the food may start to decline, although it's still good to eat and has an active shelf life for a period of time beyond this predetermined date.

Let's be honest, they won't be sitting on your shelf for very long anyway.

Ingredients Glossary

Every once in awhile you might come across an ingredient you don't recognize. We've demystified these commonly used, hard-to-say ingredients so you can snack freely.

Ingredients Function Why we use it
Soy lecithin
(Found in Cinnamon Yogurt Mini Grahams, Whole Wheat Vanilla Animal Cookies, Mocha Almond Bars)
Emulsifier It dissolves happily into water/oil mixtures, makes chocolate velvety smooth.
Mixed tocopherols
(Found in Mocha Almond Bars)
Nutrient (vitamin E), antioxidant These are a combination of the fat soluble alcohols found in vitamin E. Mixed tocopherols preserve the taste and prevent foods that contain oils and fats from going rancid. Naturally found in green vegetables, whole grains, plant-based oils, fish, and nuts.
Sodium bicarbonate
(Found in Lemon Almond Biscotti Bites, Cinnamon Yogurt Mini Grahams)
Buffer (helps control acidity), leavening agent Sodium bicarbonate has a more familiar name when used in food: baking soda. As a leavening agent, it causes dough to rise and can even be used to safely clean fresh produce.
Thiamine mononitrate
(Found in Garlic Bread Cheese Crisps, Lemon Almond
 Biscotti Bites, Whole
Wheat Vanilla Animal Cookies)
Nutrient (Vitamin B1) A water soluble compound in the vitamin B family, it naturally occurs in nuts, legumes, and whole grains. Its primary use in food is to return nutrients to the flour that were lost during processing.

Gelling agent, thickener, stabilizer Pectin is a natural fiber found in plants, particularly in the skins, cores, and seeds of fruits like apples and oranges. It's a safe additive to thicken jams and jellies.
Silicon dioxide
(Found in Spicy Sriracha Popcorn)
Anti-caking agent When added to a mixture, silicon dioxide prevents its ingredients from binding together. Some spices we use contain silicon dioxide to enhance their taste.
Palm Oil
(Found in Mocha Almond Bars, Greek Yogurt Apple Cinnamon Oat Bars, and Peanut Butter Nom Noms)
Tenderizer Palm oil is an edible vegetable oil used in many baked foods to influence the spread of a cookie, the volume and grain of a cake, and the smoothness of a frosting.
